New EMS Foundation video highlights first responders

A new video has been launched by the EMS Foundation that highlights the efforts that makes some First Responder programs possible. Associate Executive Director with EMS for Alberta Health Services Rob Berone says they get support form the foundation for some of their programming.

“They have placed over 400 AED units around Grande Prairie and area. We are helping them identifying some of the areas based on our experience like facilities that have a high concentration of people.”

He says another program that is funded by the foundation is the puppy program which provides a child with a stuffed animal. Berone says “Trusty the Husky” gives kids comfort in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

“The foundation is working to support first response agencies and one happens to be EMS. We are one of quite a few recipients of the work that the foundation does.”

The video highlights other agencies like Ski Patrol, Medical First Response along with EMS. The video will be launched on Youtube and across social media.
