HMV locations Canada-wide will be closing down. A report from the Globe and Mail says that the company has heard that one of their major lenders has asked the Ontario Superior Court to put the chain into receivership. That which would mean the chain would be forced to close its 120 Canadian stores, including the Prairie Mall in Grande Prairie.
Court filings show the chain has been losing money for the past three years, as people continue to turn to digital streaming. The Globe says that the music chain had asked for help from major labels and media companies in order to stay open through 2017.
