Trial set for accused bank robber

A Trial has been set for an accused bank robber from Duncan’s First Nation. Christopher Trevor Lawrence will stand trial in Peace River on March 14th to 17th for armed robbery charges.

In April 2015, an ATB Financial Agency in Berwyn was robbed and with further investigation, Lawrence and Malcolm Henry Testawits were charged.

Testawits was also involved in a collision near Fairview in October of 2016 and escaped in an unmarked police car. He was captured by locals in Clear Hills County on November 18th. He will also stand trial with a jury in March for charges relating to the Berwyn bank robbery.
