Valleyview RCMP are looking to find and speak with a driver involved in a fatal pedestrian hit and run late last month. A man and woman were walking on the north side of the westbound lanes along Highway 43 around 1 a.m. on December 27th. The man was hit by a large truck and was declared dead at the scene.
RCMP say it’s possible the truck’s driver may not have noticed they hit someone until they stopped and saw the damage. It would have been to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Witnesses describe the truck as being an extended tandem axel semi with a closed-in box. The pieces of the truck found on scene were from a 2004 Volvo semi truck type VHD or VNL. The photos in this article are of similar models.
Police are asking all company owners and managers to check their fleet vehicles for damage. If they believe one of their vehicles was involved, they’re asked to contact RCMP.
