Parking ban in effect Wednesday

With several days of snow in the forecast, a parking ban will be in effect in Grande Prairie starting Wednesday morning. It covers all permanent snow routes in the city between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. weekdays. 100th Street, 68th Avenue, Resources Road and Highway 40/Wapiti Road are all included, along with bus routes.

Transportation Services Manager Robert Carroll explains that crews will be able to plow snow quicker and more completely if vehicles are cleared from the road. Anyone who leaves their car could be ticketed or towed.
