RCMP are investigating an alleged arson that took place on New Year’s Day. At around 7:00 am, police were at the scene of Press’d Sandwich Company located in the plaza on 108th Street. Someone had noticed a fire at the back of the restaurant and called the fire department.
The fire was put out and the business next door was evacuated. There were no injuries and there were no people in the building at the time because it was closed.
Fire crews believe the fire was set intentionally and the investigation continues.
There were also reports of a truck driving into the building the previous night.
