No flu deaths in Northern Alberta this season

So far this flu season there has been 35 confirms cases in Northern Alberta but no deaths because of the illness. According to Alberta Health Services, there has been 33 cases of influenza A and 2 cases of B. There has been 8 people hospitalized because of influenza.

There has been over 83,000 doses of vaccination given out so far this year. Last year, over 99,000 doses were given out through out the entire season. By the end of the 2015-2016 season, 845 cases of the flu had been diagnosed in the North Zone and 62 people died across the province. Six of those were in the northern region.
