Arrest made in Ranchlands assault

A man from Edmonton and woman from Grande Prairie are facing charges after an investigation into an assault in the Ranchlands area. At around 6:45 am December 16th, RCMP found two men had been hurt.

20 year old Kayla Josephine Simms remains at large and is facing charges of robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless use of a firearm. Police are asking anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact the detachment.

Abdel Rahee Tarik Ahmed is facing numerous charges from the incident including robbery, poiting a firearm, and assault. He was released on bail but will appear in court on January 4th, 2017.

The two men who were assaulted went to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
