Grande Prairie driver likely in medical distress before fatal crash

An early morning crash near Ponoka has claimed the life of a Grande Prairie man. RCMP say the 55 year old was driving northbound on Highway 2 around 4:30 a.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and ended up in the ditch near the exit for Highway 2A.

Officers believe he was in medical distress at the time and lost control. The man was the only person in the vehicle and he was declared dead at the scene. Police say they won’t be releasing his name or any further details.
