Driver critically injured by Highway 97 crash

A driver is in critical condition after a crash on Highway 47 Tuesday night. RCMP say a Volkswagon Jetta was trying to pass when it hit a Jeep headed in the opposite direction north of Taylor. The Jetta was then hit by a pickup as it swerved to avoid the Jeep.

The Jetta’s driver is seriously injured and is being treated at a hospital in southern B.C. The pickup’s driver was also taken to hospital for observation.

At this point, police can’t say whether drugs or alcohol are considered a factor and an investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses who haven’t spoken to an officer is asked to contact the Fort St. John detachment.
