Beaverlodge water storage tanks sanitized after breach

Four days after mud or sludge got into the clear water area, the Town of Beaverlodge has sanitized the storage tanks of its water treatment plant. The system will start to be flushed Saturday, and should be done by Sunday as long as there’s no issues.

Once all of the repairs have been done, further testing will be needed. The town is still waiting for the results of samples sent for analysis earlier this week.

Now that the sanitization is over, the amount of chlorine in the water should go down. A boil water advisory remains in place and residents can still get a 24 pack of bottled water per household, per day at the town hall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
