Preliminary hearing next year for Whitefish Lake First Nation double homicide

A preliminary hearing has been set for the man accused of killing a young couple on the Whitefish Lake First Nation. 19 year old Edward Gladue is charged with the first or second degree murder of 17 year old Dylan Laboucan and 19 year old Cory Grey, who were reported missing on July 23rd this year.

Their bodies were found in separate locations in the rural High Prairie area over the next three days. Autopsies confirmed they died of gunshot wounds and were homicide victims. How they knew Gladue has not been released, but he also lived on the reservation.

A preliminary hearing will be held on June 8th next year to decide whether there’s enough evidence to go to trial.
