Boil advisory issued for Town of Beaverlodge

A boil water advisory has been issued for the Town of Beaverlodge. Alberta Health Services says all residents, businesses and institutions are affected until further notice.

As of right now, the need for the advisory is unknown. However, town staff say they are working to get the water supply back up quickly and safely.

AHS issues a boil water advisory when harmful germs like E. Coli bacteria or the Giardia
parasite may be in a drinking water supply. Contaminated water can make people and their pets very sick, but boiling it makes it safe again.

Don’t use the water to drink, cook, wash fruits and vegetables, or brush your teeth. It’s also unfit for your pet. You can use the water to wash your hands with soap and for a bath or shower provided you don’t drink any.

Until the advisory is lifted, only use boiled water, bottled water, or water from a different supply. Get the water to a boiling roll for at least a minute.
