Wembley elects two new town councillors

Anna Underwood and Sean McCallum are the new councillors in the Town of Wembley. A byelection was held Thursday to fill two vacant seats, and the pair earn 114 and 97 votes respectively. Andrew Alexander Southern received 32 votes, while Derek D’Albertanson got 27.

In total 146 people went to the polls, a considerably low turnout for the town of more than 1,400. Nearly 400 people people voted in the 2010 municipal elections.

Underwood and McCallum replace councillors Tara Jones and Jon Anaka, who recently moved away and stepped down.
