Grande Prairie expecting extreme windchill overnight

An extreme windchill of minus 42 is in the forecast for Grande Prairie overnight Thursday. Environment Canada expects the city to see a low of minus 33 with wind gusting up to 15 kilometres an hour.

A cold front has chilled the Swan City over the past few days, with it reaching as cold as minus 27.2 Wednesday, but the coldest it’s felt so far is minus 32.

An extreme windchill of minus 43 is in the forecast for Friday during the day as well.
