Two charged after RCMP officer assaulted

A man and woman from Grande Prairie are facing charges after a truck was stolen and a police officer was attacked with bear spray. 25 year old Bradlee Roy Post and 30 year old Ashley Dawn Quintal are facing multiple charges.

RCMP were responding to a call at a rural property northeast of the city in the early morning of December 6th. An officer approached a vehicle in the area but when they tried to speak to the driver, they were sprayed. The mountie made it back to the cruiser to call for help while the suspect’s vehicle drove through a field. It was later found, but RCMP found that a Ford F-350 had been stolen.

The second vehicle was found at a home in Grande Prairie which lead to the arrest of Post. On December 7th, Quintal was identified and arrested. The woman was released but Post remains in custody and will appear in court on December 12th, 2016. Quintal will be in court on December 21st, 2016.

The officer was not seriously injured.
