Fundraiser to help bring quadriplegic Sexsmith teen home to her family

Friends and family of a Sexsmith teenager are getting together on Friday in hopes of bringing her home to her family.
17 year old Kiesha Wenzel suffered a severe spinal cord injury after hitting a moose while driving home last fall.
Paralyzed from the chest down, Kiesha has so far been unable to come home from the hospital for good. Pam Bessey is one of the organizers of the fundraiser.
She says Keisha is currently doing physical therapy at the QEII.
“She’s doing really well, she’s graduating, she’s got her plans to go to college. So we’re just trying to help the family deal with all this other stuff that’s so over whelming, just so they can focus on getting Keisha home.”
Bessey says they would like to purchase a $65,000 wheelchair accessible van for the family.
The Bring Kiesha Home fundraiser is being held at Spurs this Friday.
