The Stompede organizing committee kicked off the event Tuesday afternoon by announcing their 2014 Wagon Master and Stomper of the Year. Alfred Noren says he is honoured to have been recognized as Wagon Master.
“I grew up with all of these people.  I drove my first chuckwagon when I was 16 years old.  And I was competing in rodeo all over the country.  So it is something that we have done all of our lives.”
Stompede committee treasurer Melissa Strban was selected by her peers to be this year’s Stomper of the year.
