More students learning about train safety after dangerous incident

The Canadian National Railway Police will be back in Grande Prairie this week to talk to public school children about train safety. Dean Solowan will be speaking to students at Aspen Grove and Parkside Montessori about how playing near the tracks can be dangerous. The older groups will get a more dramatic presentation.

A video surfaced this spring showing a large group of children “playing chicken” with a running train next to the new skate park in Clairmont. Some of them even ran up and hit the cars as they passed. The video caught the attention of CN Rail, which sent Solowan to first speak to classes at Clairmont Community School.
