St. Joe’s Celtics headed for Alberta Bowl rematch

The St. Joe’s Celtics have earned their way to provincials for the third year in the row. The tier II football team beat the Lloydminster Barons 20 to 3 at the Community Knowledge Campus field in Grande Prairie Saturday afternoon.

It will be a rematch of the 2015 bowl, when Celtics took silver against the Falcons 69 – 15. That followed a first place finish in 2014. They’ll be at home for the final against the Foothills Falcons November 25th. Kick off is at 7 p.m.

The Sexsmith Sabres also hosts the tier IV regional finals at the CKC field Saturday. They fell 27 – 14 to the Stettler Wildcats.
