Alaska Highway crash victim identified as Dawson Creek woman

The B-C Coroners Service has identified the woman killed in a crash on the Alaska Highway Sunday. 23 year old Victory McFarlen of Dawson Creek was declared dead at the scene, south of the Kiskatinaw River Bridge.

RCMP say her pickup truck was heading north when she lost control and rolled over. She was ejected from the vehicle, prompting a reminder for residents to wear a seatbelt. Police also noted the highway was extremely slippery at the time, and speed and slippery conditions are considered factors in the crash.

McFarlen’s family has been notified of her death and has asked for their privacy.
