Harley-Davidson unveils custom "Dino Bike" for Aykroyd Family Ride

Harley-Davidson has unveiled the custom motorcycle that Dan Aykroyd will ride to the ribbon cutting for the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum.

The 2014 Softail Breakout, which will be signed and raffled off, was donated by the Grande Prairie dealership and given a makeover by Mark Doar of Chaotic Customs based on a flyer he was shown.

“Their logo is the Troodon in what the call the ‘death pose’, which is curled up, which is what’s on the main body of the tank, with, of course, the name. They also had this ghosted in dinosaur thing in their, so I threw that in as well.”

Online registration is already open for the first ever Mighty Peace Harley-Davidson Aykroyd Family Ride, and it’s expected 1,000 bikers will take part.

Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Initiative Executive Director Brian Brake says the fundraiser was a perfect fit.

“Dan, I know, is very excited about it. I can’t think of anything better than having 1,000 bikes show up at the museum on the day we cut the ribbon; what a great celebration from the community.”

600 tickets at a cost of $100 are being sold for the bike raffle, which will take place at the Amber Ball the night of the ride, August 9th.
