Shot fired in Grimshaw home invasion

Police believe a home invasion that sent a Grimshaw resident to hospital was not a random act. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.

RCMP say three unknown people entered the home and assaulted the 35 year old home owner. A shot was also fired. Four children were home at the time but none were injured. The victim was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects fled in a black vehicle, and despite extensive patrols by Peace Regional RCMP, Police Dog Services, and other nearby detachments, neither the vehicle nor the people responsible were found. Mounties maintain there’s no danger to the public stemming from this attack, and ask anyone with information to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
