Grande Prairie wildfire hazard reduced thanks to rainy weather

Thanks to the wet weather we’ve experienced lately, AESRD has downgraded the fire hazard for the Grande Prairie region from moderate to low.

There is more rain on the way as well, but those doing any outdoor burning should still be cautious.

Campfires should always be monitored and put out correctly by dousing them in water and stirring the ashes.

So far there have been 14 fires in the Grande Prairie Wildfire Management Area since fire season began on March 1.
