Trial for Halliburton shooting suspect set for spring 2017

A former Halliburton employee accused in a shooting at their location in Clairmont will go to trial next spring. Panagiotis Michalakakos is charged with several offences stemming from the March 31st, 2015 incident.

Police were called the the scene in the Clairmont Industrial Park shortly before 8 p.m. after a report that a man had entered the site and was shooting a rifle. RCMP arrested then-58 year old Michalakakos around midnight after another Halliburton employee made contact with him and was able to help police start negotiations.

A trial will be held in Grande Prairie from mid March through the first week of April, 2017.
