Rycroft volunteer charged with theft

A volunteer Treasurer with the Rycroft Arena Board has been charged with theft after fundraising dollars allegedly went missing. Amy Lyne had become the Treasurer for the fundraising board in 2014. President of the Board DJ Barbarich explains that volunteers were tipped off about the missing money after their annual spring fundraiser. He says the Rycroft Winter Frolic is their biggest fundraiser of the year and the 2016 event seemed like a successful one. He adds that they noticed that there were no deposits of cash into their fund from the event or 6 months prior.

Barbarich says the arena is a volunteer run facility.

Lyne has been charged with theft over $5000.
She will make her first appearance in Grande Prairie court on November 7th, 2016.
