Grande Prairie’s best local businesses have been recognized at the Chamber’s Awards of Distinction. The nominees were submitted and then voted on by the public, as well as a selection committee.

Big Brother Big Sisters GP and Area is considered the employer of choice, and Benita Galandy is this year’s Service Superstar for going above and beyond at the Elders Caring Shelter. Taking home this year’s Community Spirit Award was Lee’s Sheet Metal, while the Grant Berg Gallery won the Eagle Feather Award as a First Nation, Metis or Inuit owned business that demonstrates outstanding achievement in business.

This year’s Innovator Award was handed out to Competitive Edge Business Solutions, while the Grande Prairie Live Theatre Society earned the Arts and Culture Award. The kudos were wrapped up with the Fuse Realty getting the nod for marketing, and Goodwill Industries’ Power of Work program being named the best employer of persons with challenges.
