UPDATE: Prolific offender tracked down in Whitecourt

A 29 year old man known to police as a frequent offender has been arrested in Whitecourt. RCMP say they had been investigating an increase in break-ins to garages and sheds in the area.

Officers responded to reports of someone trying to steal a quad in the early morning hours of Tuesday October 18th. RCMP and Police Dog Services responded by tracking the suspect. This had them go into a number of resident’s backyards.

A report came into police shortly after about a man in a garage on Trading Post Trail. Kristien Anthony Levesque was arrested with the help of the police dog services. RCMP say he was injured during the process.

He has been charged with eleven new offences which include breaking and entering, theft, disguising with intent, possession of property obtained by crime, and breaches of a probation order.
