Designated drivers handing out “blessing bags” to less fortunate

Transporters Designated Drivers spend their nights bringing people and their vehicles home safe, and now they want to help out another part of the community. Driver Linda Jackson has started putting together “blessing bags” filled with necessities to give to people out in the cold.

She says she sees some of the less fortunate as she’s out driving every day, and not everyone is prepared for the cold weather. The bags include warm items like toques, mittens, socks and hand warmers, as well as hygeine products and a $5 gift card for a warm meal.

The company put together the first 20 bags handed out. Items, cash and bottle donations can be arranged by contacting Linda through the Transporters DD & Vehicle Delivery Service Facebook page.
