Man dead after vehicle goes over embankment in the BC Peace

A man has died after a single vehicle collision 12 kilometres north of Hudson Hope in the BC Peace.

RCMP received reports of a vehicle that had gone down a 100 metre embankment and landed in the river below. Search and Rescue, Fire rescue, Police and Provincial Ambulance Services attended the scene. Officers found that the silver vehicle was partially submerged in the river and in order for crews to reach it, the Peace Canyon Dam was called to lower the water.

Police say the vehicle was pulled out and a man was found dead in the driver’s seat. After searching further, they believe that no one else was in the vehicle at the time.

Officers are unsure of the time that the car went over the edge and the identity of the man has not been released.
