LibriCon is back for another year this Saturday and that means people dressed up in their favourite character costumes.
The start up of the event got its inspiration from larger comic-con events in bigger centres like Edmonton which has people celebrate pop culture.
There will be a showcase of movies, graphic novels and anime highlighted in the Grande Prairie Public Library collection. There will also be a special pre-release movie. This year, that movie will be Star Trek: Beyond and it will play on the big screen in the Willie Janssen Discovery Room.
This event has received provincial recognition, with two awards at the Alberta Library Conference on May 1st in 2015 held in Jasper. This year’s Libri-con is scheduled for Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
