GPRC receives funding for indigenous education initiatives

The Grande Prairie Regional College has received funds for indigenous education initiatives.

An investment of $100,000 has been committed over two years from TD Bank Group to the Integrated Indigenous Education Initiative. The funds will go to help the Elder-in-Residence program and on-campus Friendship Centre. The money will help the programs grow and GPRC President and CEO Don Gnatiuk says with working with local aboriginal communities the college has developed the Aboriginal Administration Diploma program and Native Studies.

On Friday October 7th, the funding was announced at the GPRC’s Indigenous Student for a Day initiative.
