UPDATE #2: Grande Prairie RCMP say they were responding to a report of a possible gunshot in the area this afternoon. Constable Melanie McIntosh says investigators found the source of the sound and no shot was fired.
UPDATE: The school is now all clear and operations are back to normal. No harm to staff or students has been reported. No word yet on what the concern was.
I.V. Macklin Public School is currently on under Hold and Secure protocol due to a concern in the neighbourhood. The school district says all students are safe and accounted for.
No one will be allowed in or out of the building at this time. We will update when we learn more.
