Weekend weather may delay 101st Avenue reopening

There is rain and snow in the forecast for the weekend which lines up with the wrap up of construction on 101st Avenue.

The section downtown between 100th and 102nd Street westbound remains closed as construction on underground work continues. The re-opening date is set for Sunday October 2nd but with the forecast, there is a possibility that the completion date could be delayed.

Environment Canada has 5 millimetres of rain in the forecast for today and around 10 to 15 millimetres overnight. For Saturday, there is rain and snow in the forecast.

The work is for the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project.
