Alberta Culture Days celebrated locally this weekend

A festival for the arts will be held across the province with celebrations taking place across the city of Grande Prairie.

Alberta Culture Days will be held at venues around Grande Prairie including Muskoseepi Park, Grant Berg Gallery, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, the Provincial Building, the Montrose Cultural Centre, Teresa Sargeant Hall, Grande Prairie Live Theatre, Centre 2000, Grande Prairie Museum, and the Centre for Creative Arts.

The 7th Annual Wearable Arts Show is part of the weekend which held Saturday at the Centre for Creative Arts. The show features a catwalk style showing of art that has been crafted to be worn on the body.

Other activities include book readings and Local Indie Short Films. There will be sculpture demonstrations at Grant Berg Gallery on Saturday and a photography competition held on the third floor of Centre for Creative Arts on Sunday called the Five Alarm Photography Competition.

The celebration runs Friday September 30th to October 2nd with a full list of events on the Centre for Creative Arts website.
