Calgary lawyer running for PC leadership

A third person has thrown their hat in the ring to lead Alberta’s Progressive Conservative Party. Calgary lawyer Byron Nelson announced his candidacy at a press conference Tuesday morning.

Nelson says he’s running for the leadership to see the PC Party “focus on restoring Alberta to the place of opportunity that it once was.” Nelson ran as a Tory in the Calgary – Bow riding in 2015, but was defeated by the N-D-P candidate.

Former M-P Jason Kenney and former PC cabinet minister Donna Kennedy-Glans have also announced their intention to run.
