Sexsmith fatal stabbing preliminary hearing underway

A preliminary hearing this week will determine whether there is enough evidence to send Jordan Joseph Wendland to trial for the fatal stabbing at a Sexsmith bar. 18 year old Donald Moberly died in an Edmonton hospital after being stabbed with three other people at the Alamo Bar on October 25th, 2015.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for 29 year old Wendland, who was arrested three days later in the lower B.C. mainland. Wendland is charged with Moberly’s second degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

The preliminary hearing got underway Monday and is scheduled to wrap up Friday.
