An 18 year old has been charged after an investigation into a fatal collision in May. Zackery Dewitz of Fairview has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
On May 14th at around 4:30 am, Fairview RCMP, EMS and fire were sent to a single vehicle collision north east of the town. STARS air ambulance transported a 16 year old female to Grande Prairie Hospital but she later died.
Dewitz was transported to the Fairview hospital then later airlifted to Edmonton. The Peace River Collision Analyst was investigating and Dewitz will appear in court on November 23rd at the Fairview Provincial Courthouse.
