Transit manager receives nod for work in industry

The transit manager for the city of Grande Prairie is making big stops when it comes to being noticed in the transit industry. Jason Henry has been named to the Top 40 Under 40 list by Mass Transit Magazine for 2016. He was nominated by the President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Transit Association Patrick LeClerc.

Earlier this year, the city implemented the Where’s My Ride feature to the system using GPS technology to track the buses. The transit department is also looking into implementing North America’s first solar energy storage system to charge its electric bus fleet.

On top of receiving the award, the city is currently hosting the CUTA regional fall meeting for the prairie provinces and territories.
