The only Aboriginal father-son duo to be listed on the Stanley Cup has returned to the Peace region. Reggie and Jamie Leach are back by popular demand on a tour of local schools.
The pair took part in Peace Wapiti School Division’s First Nations, Métis, and Inuit tour in May 2014, and will be visiting another seven schools in the district this week, along with one in the Grande Prairie Catholic School Division. They’ll be sharing their experiences with the grade 4 to 12 students, teaching them about setting goals, following their dreams, and making good life choices.
Reggie won the Cup in 1975 with the Philadelphia Flyers and Jamie won in both ’91 and ’92 with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
