Rotary clubs filling the food bank shelves

Volunteers will be going door-to-door to ask for donations to their food drive in less than two weeks.

After 5:00 pm on September 13th, there will be community members collecting the items in Grande Prairie, Sexsmith and Clairmont.

The Grande Prairie Rotary Clubs as well as Rotaract and Interact Clubs organize the event every year to fill the shelves of the Rotary Food Bank. This is the 20th year of the food drive and Rotarian Jerry Napier explains that they have a great response every year.

If you are not home at the time that volunteers knock at the door, they are collecting items at the Salvation Army at 9615, 102nd Street on weekdays between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Napier adds that they are asking any companies, community groups or families to help execute the event.

Volunteers can meet at the D’Coy Armories Building on 100th Street and 90th Avenue after 5:00 pm on September 13th.
