Chainsaw carving of swan gifted to Grande Prairie Airport

Grande Prairie has a new piece of swan art to its name. The District of Chetwynd has gifted a chainsaw carving entitled “The Swan Dance” to the Grande Prairie Airport.

Now stationed between the entrance and the parking lot, it’s hoped the swan carving will promote the B.C. community’s international chainsaw carving championship held every year in June. Chetwynd Mayor Merlin Nichols also thinks it’s a fitting present for the Swan City.

Airport CEO Brian Grant says it also helps signifies the important relationship the airport has with neighbouring municipalities.
