ANAVETS looking for ways to bring in funds

The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans are looking for ways to lower their debt.

The City of Grande Prairie has lent the ANAVETS $26,820.63 to put toward their utility bill that they purchase through Alberta Municipal Services Corporation. The loan from city will allow for them to skip the interest on the large bill that has accumulated over time.

Representative Ken Fedoruk explains that with the Grande Bingo Society moving locations soon and not renting their facility, they will be looking at other ways to bring in funds.

“Basically, what we are going to do is rent our hall. We have a hall that seats about 400 people and would be perfect for weddings or any other function. We have a room downstairs that seats 75 people. We have just completed a bunch of paving and renovations.”

Fedoruk explains that funds are also needed for regular maintenance like the roof of the building. They also just replaced the furnace.

They continue to look for people to rent the space in order to bring in more money. The ANAVETS community hall is located in the Hillside area near the Macklin field on the east side of Grande Prairie.
