Two Grande Prairie teens charged in Yellowknife drug bust

RCMP have charged two Grande Prairie teens and a teen from Fort McMurray after a executing a search warrant in downtown Yellowknife.

After searching a downtown hotel, police seized illicit drugs, evidence of trafficking and cash. Officers found 260 grams of what they believe to be crack cocaine.

Both 19 year old Brandon Leach and 18 year old Taylor Peterson of Grande Prairie have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. Cody Brownlee of Fort McMurray also received the same charges.

RCMP say reducing as well as deconstructing and interrupting the drug trade in the community is top priority.
