GPRC announces new women’s volleyball coach

A new head coach has been named to the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves women’s volleyball team.

Sam Tuivai will take the position this season with 13 years of experience in playing as well as coaching. He has competed nationally and internationally including in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport for a total of five years. He also played in the Alberta College Athletics Conference.

Tuivai was born in Penrose, New Zealand where his love of the sport began. He went on to play volleyball professionally in China and currently holds the position of head coach of the Grande Prairie’s Beach Volleyball club.

The new coach says he is excited to watch the team grow in skills as well as academics and community engagement.
