Explore local food and farms during Alberta Open Farm Days

Two local farms are opening their gates for this year’s Alberta Open Farm Days. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday, residents can interact with animals at Down to Earth Petting Zoo in Sexsmith. Just west of Grande Prairie, families can explore the GP Corn Maze from 12 to 6 p.m.

That’s where they’ll also find a local food festival put on by the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association as part of the event’s farm-to-table culinary experiences. GP Brewing Co. and Madhatters are also taking part, with self-guided brewery tours from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday and featured menu items that support local farms next door all weekend.
