Grande Prairie girl applies to the Canadian Space Agency

For the first time since 2009, the Canadian Space Agency is recruiting two new astronauts and they could come from right here in Grande Prairie. Five year old Juliet Munn-Lenz has submitted a video resume, which has been viewed more than 44,000 times on the organization’s Facebook page. Over the past few months she’s spent hours researching outer space, and has some big dreams.

“I want to an astronaut so that I can be the first person on Mars and so I can be the first person in our solar system to meet aliens.”

Munn-Lenz has a goal of becoming an astronaut when she’s 24 years old.

Among her qualifications are knowing hundreds of facts about space, graduating kindergarten with grade one level math and having a fresh perspective.

In addition to sharing her video, the agency also sent Juliet a package of posters and other goodies. She also took part in a science camp at Grande Prairie Regional College last week.
