Alberta Derby at Evergreen Park this Sunday

Another Sunday of Derby goes at Evergreen Park this weekend with Alberta versus Kentucky. This is the second year in a row that the horses will be racing there.

There will be a seven-horse field with four Kentucky-born thoroughbreds. Mister Jangles, Leena and Charpetti are Alberta-bred.

Grande Prairie area’s Tim Rycroft trains horse Kristofferson while local Riley Rycroft trains Charpetti who is owned by his father.

The purse for Sunday’s Alberta Derby is over $50,000.
