Second Kijiji scammer sentenced

The second kijiji scammer has plead guilty to one of his charges. Brandon Franklin Smith and Cyndi Kennedy were arrested in June of 2014 after RCMP began investigating claims that they were taking damage deposits from prospective renters without showing the properties.

It is believed that they were able to get over $36,000 from users on the buy and sell site in Grande Prairie.

Last month, Brandon Franklin Smith was sentenced to 10 months in jail and two months probation on one of his charges.

Kennedy was sentenced April 23rd of last year and received 16 months in jail, a 24 month probation which includes a period of rehab and 150 hours of community service. She will also be paying $36,000 back to her victims.
