The average price per hectare at Wednesday’s Crown petroleum and natural gas rights sale was the lowest so far this year.
At $343, the 29 hectares sold resulted in only $9.9Â million in bonus bids, the second lowest sale of 2014.
Notably, the 265 hectares classified as within important caribou habitat did not have any offers accepted by the province.
Sales this far this year have dropped to 58 per cent of last year at this point.
